Greg Lawes - Director

Greg formed National Mercantile in 2001 after a long career in corporate finance working for two major Australian banks.  Greg has gained considerable knowledge of corporate finance and understanding of the needs of businesses over 30 years, many of which were spent as a departmental head and senior branch manager.  The experience gained during Greg’s banking career has been extremely beneficial with his transition to heading up a successful client focussed debt collection company.  Greg’s philosophy of building and maintaining beneficial client relationships has been a major focus in the ongoing success of National Mercantile over the past 5 years.

David Lawes - Chief Executive Officer

David has an educational background in Accounting, Marketing & Entrepreneurship and has had over 15 year’s experience working in the debt collection industry.  David began his career in debt collection working for a small boutique agency that was later acquired by one of Australia’s biggest debt collection agencies.  David started as an account manager handling debts in various industries including telecommunications, manufacturing and insurance.  David later took on a role in Business Development before joining National Mercantile in 2005.  David is currently undertaking the Master of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and is passionate about continually driving National Mercantile to develop better solutions to our client’s needs.

Henri Le Maire - Chief Operating Officer

Henri is a passionate leader that prides himself on delivering great outcomes for all of his stakeholders.  With a strong hands-on work ethic he is always motivated to generate the best outcomes using the simplest and most cost-effective solutions.  He has a strong foundation with seven years in the Banking and Finance Industry where he began his career in Loans Management before he joining the Debt Recovery Industry.  He has over 20 years of experience in all facets of Debt Recovery/Credit Management across Banking & Finance – Utilities – Telecommunications – Government – Work Cover – Insurance (Consumer/Commercial Pre & Post Legal).  Henri understands and embraces the use of technology and has extensive experience in Blended Dialer Operations/ACD/IVR/TTS.  Henri surrounds himself with the right people and provides them with direct and open feedback.  Engaging and involving his team in the big picture has been the key to meeting client expectations and company targets while always maintaining compliance with relevant regulation.

Chris McKelvie – Operations Manager

Chris McKelvie has worked in debt collection since 1989, starting with NZ’s largest collection agency managing their outbound call centre before moving to Australia in 1995 and working with many of Australia’s largest collection agencies. Chris has over 30 years’ experience working in a variety of operational and management roles in debt collection and in addition to this management of skip tracing operations and working within the collections software industry. Chris’ extensive experience in operations, culture and development, staff training, systems processes and business development has him well positioned to provide quality services to our clients.
